North of England Commissioning Support for and on behalf of NHS Sunderland, North Durham, Newcastle Gateshead, South Tyneside and Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield CCGs wish to commission a Renal Dialysis Patient Transport Service for renal dialysis patients at City Hospitals Sunderland, from their residence to units at Sunderland Royal Hospital, Durham Hospital and Washington PCC. The service must provide flexibility to respond to changing needs, e.g. new healthcare locations, on-the-day requests, flexible pick-up and delivery including evenings and weekends. It needs to make the effective use of technology for scheduling journeys.
