It is important to invest in new production equipment in order to maintain and secure the operation of the municipality's central laundry. The objective of the contract is to replace all dryers, three of the barrier washers and the roller that are currently in use at the laundry.

Horten central laundry at Langgrunn shall during a 3-year period replace (2020, 2021 and 2022) replace the current equipment. The contracting authority plans to procure the following equipment in the period:

— six dryers,

— Three barrier washers of different size,

— one electric heat roller.

The tender folder includes information on the replacement plan for the equipment. The order of the replacement plan can be changed in accordance with requirements.

The contracting authority makes a reservation that the approved budget is adequate for the specified volume. If the budget is deficient, the number of procured machines must be less.

The central laundry in Horten municipality is constructed for:

— the washing, drying, packing/finishing work uniforms for the health care workers at the municipality's nursing homes, the home care service, the emergency doctors’ surgeries,

— the washing and delivery of linen/bedding for the above listed departments,

— the washing of textiles for some small entities such as nurseries, activity centres as well as some of the primary and comprehensive schools in the municipality,

— the washing of private clothes for the residents in the municipal nursing homes.

The total volume of the textiles is approx. 7 500 kg per week.
