GVB wants to enter into an agreement with a tenderer to dispose of the superfluous metro trainsets in a sustainable manner and in a demonstrable manner. Flexibility in the disposal of the old vehicles is an important factor due to the dependencies with the inflow of the new metro trainsets.

The scope of the contract concerns the removal of 24 metro trainsets type S1/S2 vehicles and up to a maximum of 36 metro trainsets type S3/M4 vehicles. The disposal of the vehicles includes the sustainable demolition of the trainsets and the maximum recycling of materials.
