Renovation of complex Zwijnaarde A14/E17 x A10/E40 in Ghent:

‐ Slingerviaduct West (brugnr. 0.010.055.1);

‐ Slinger viaduct Oost (bridge no. 0.010.056.1);

‐ Brug West (brugnr. 0.010.054.1);

‐ Bridge East (bridge no. 0.010.057.1);

‐ Bridge West Ringvaart and R4 (brugnrs. 0.014.060.2 and 0.014.061.3);

‐ Bridge Oost Ringvaart and R4 (brugnrs. 0.014.061.4 and 0.014.060.3);

The contract mainly comprises:

- Drawing up the necessary site and diversion signalling plans per phase of the works;

- Placing/keeping in service/removing the necessary site and diversion signalling;

- Renewing the waterproofing system over the entire surface of the

bridges;

- Replacing the bridge edges in natural stone and concrete capstone with a reinforced

concrete bridge edge;

- Renewing the safety bumpers;

- Installing a new handrail;

- The installation of new bridge decks with double water inlet;

- Renewing the RWA drains;

- Renewing the bridge deck joints;

- Placing an epoxy scraping layer on the bridge decks;

- Renewing the roadway and footpath;

- Removing the protective coating along the underside of the bridges (asbestos);

- Carrying out the necessary concrete repairs along the underside of the bridges;

- Protecting the visible concrete of the bridges;

- Carrying out a study into the state of the after-tensioning of the bridges;

- Renewing the roadway, footpath, embankment troughs, safety bumpers and

cement concrete pavement under the service path in the connections to the bridges and between

the bridges;

- Maintenance of works during the guarantee period.
