Production and delivery of archive boxes for magazinesThe archive boxes are required for professional and permanent archiving of unbound media works. When filled, they should be closed with the slide (lid), moved to the magazine and permanently archived vertically on the narrow side.
The archival cardboard is to be made of corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 1.6 - 1.7 mm. The color of the material should be gray-blue on the outside.
The dimensions specify height x depth x width as the external dimensions to be observed. The archive box should be assembled using a plug-in technology (tab and slot), no use of metal parts. The erection is done by folding, folding and plugging - no gluing.
It should stand upright and the slider / lid should open towards the front (towards the shelf aisle).
The direction of travel of the corrugated board should be oriented in such a way that in the case of the cardboard body, in the initial cut, the tube opening points forward in the direction of the closure lid and the direction of travel of the lid is transverse to the grooves.
The slider/lid is pushed in. The rear inserted part extends to the bottom of the archive box. The tuck-in flap of the slider/lid must be able to be inserted into the folded cardboard body over a length of at least 25 mm. In addition, there must be a semi-circular opening with a tab for engagement in order to open the lid. So that the slider/lid does not slip into the cardboard body, it must correspond in the visible region to the height a - the outer dimensions of the box. The lid must not open again on its own when closed.
Items 1.07, 1.08, 1.15 and 1.16 consist exclusively of slider/lid. These are to be used for existing archive boxes. The given dimensions in length indicate the sections between the grooves.
Dimensions:
Items 1.07 and 1.16: width 310 mm, length 245 and 105 mm + plug-in flap
Fig. 1.08: width 320 mm, length 245 and 75 mm + mortise flap
Fig. 1.15: width 310 mm, 245 and 55 mm + plug-in flap
Please refer to the photos in Appendix 1
The archive boxes must not be sharp-edged. The surfaces of the corrugated cardboard must be free of stains. The corrugated cardboard must not break open when the boxes are erected.
After folding, all sides must be flush. It should be possible to erect the box in 1 minute without instructions and with few tools.
The material used must meet the archive quality according to DIN ISO 16245-A. The materials must have a total basis weight of at least 500g/m² +/- 5% (measurement tolerance) for a 1.6 mm thick cardboard (correspondingly higher for thicker cardboard). The material must be wet resistant for 24 hours (test by the client is carried out on the basis of the samples). The top layer should be colored as thoroughly as possible. The information on the total basis weight as well as the wet strength and top layer must be included in the offer. A certificate for complying with the respective DIN/parameters must be included.
In addition to the offer, a sample for each item must be sent to the address given in the "Invitation to tender". The pattern must correspond exactly to the position in terms of dimensions and design. In addition, a material sample of at least 10 x 10 cm should be enclosed.
Production and delivery of archival cartons for horizontal storageThe archive boxes are required for the professional archiving of archival material stored horizontally, such as large-format newspapers, magazines and other archival material. The newspapers and magazines are stored unbound and unfolded.
The archival boxes are placed on shelves for large formats. These are between 1,000mm and 1,200mm wide. The compartment depth is 600mm. The archive boxes are intended to provide easy access to the archival material without having to remove the box from the shelf or from the stack.
The archival cardboard is to be made of corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 3 mm. A tolerance of 10% is allowed. Attention must be paid to the direction of the shaft in order to ensure a high stability of the kart.
The color of the material should be gray-blue or gray on the outside and white on the inside.
The cartons should be tight-fitting and stable. The floors must not sag under full load. 2 boxes are to be stored on top of each other.
The dimensions indicate width x depth x height as the external dimension to be observed. The construction of the archive box is to be carried out using a plug-in technique (flap and plug-in slot); no use of metal parts.
If technically not otherwise possible, bonding with adhesives suitable for archiving is also possible. If other stabilizing materials are used, these must be shown separately in the offer.
All parts of the plug connections must be flush with the outer surfaces of the boxes.
The internal parts must be easy to pull out of the outer part.
The archive boxes consist of 2 parts. The outer shell, the cardboard body, is only open at the front, so that the inner part can be pulled out.
The inner part, the drawer, is a box with 4 side walls. These are not consistently connected to each other.
The front wall should be open to the front and have a flap that rests 10 cm on the ar-chivgut. In order to ensure optimal removal of the archival material, the drawers on the side walls in the front third should have openings in length of 20 cm. The interventions should reach the bottom of the drawer. The side walls should be beveled. This makes it possible to grip and lift the archive material on both sides.
In addition, there should be a semicircular opening with a flap for intervention in order to be able to pull out the drawer. These interventions should be attached to the upper edge.
To prevent the drawer from slipping into the cardboard body (outer part), it must correspond to the width of the outer dimension of the box in the visible area (anti-slip protection). The drawer must not open again on its own when closed. The rear wall should be firmly connected to the side walls.
All cartons should always be able to be mounted in the same width.
The archive boxes must not be sharp-edged. The surfaces of the corrugated cardboard must be free of stains. The corrugated cardboard must not break open when the boxes are erected.
After folding, all sides must be flush. The erection of the archive boxes should be carried out with instructions and medium expenditure of time.
The material used must meet the archive quality according to DIN ISO 16245-A. The materials must have a total basis weight of at least 500g/m² +/- 5% (measurement tolerance) for 1.6 mm thick cardboard (correspondingly higher for thicker cardboard). The material must be wet resistant for 24 hours (test by the client is carried out on the basis of the samples). The top layer should be colored as thoroughly as possible. The information on the total surface weight as well as the wet strength and top layer must be included in the offer. A certificate for complying with the respective DIN/parameters must be included.
