Planning services for the renovation/rehabilitation of sheet piles and dolphins in the Lower Saale area

At the locks on the Lower Saale in Calbe, Bernburg, Alsleben, Rothenburg and Wettin, planning services are to be provided for the rehabilitation, renewal and reconstruction of dolphins and sheet piling walls.

The former WSA Magdeburg (now WSA Elbe) detected corrosion damage to sheet piles and dolphins in the offshore ports of the locks of the Lower Saale back in the early 2000s. In reports on the conservation status of the plants by the BAW in 2007, various degrees of rusting and reduced residual wall thicknesses were documented. In order to further ensure the serviceability of sheet piles and dolphins due to rusting through, repair measures have been proposed.

As part of the renovation of the dolbs, the locations of the dolbs are to be adapted to a changed function. Following the former primary function of the existing dolbs as guide dolphins, the focus is now on the construction as a mooring dolly for commercial shipping. So far, no dolphins have been built at the Wettin lock or below the Bernburg lock. This is where dolphins will be equipped for the first time as a mooring dolphin.

The planning services to be developed are divided into the following 10 sub-projects.

TP 1: Demolition and reconstruction of Dalben at the Calbe lock (Saale km 19.8 - 20.3/11 Dalben)

TP 2: Construction of Dalben below Bernburg lock (Saale km 36.61/left side/2 Dalben)

TP 3: Demolition and reconstruction of Dalben in the upper harbor of the Alsleben lock (Saale km 50.5/both sides/8 Dalben)

TP 4: Renovation or refurbishment of the central pier in the upper outer harbor of the Alsleben lock (Saale km 50.7)

TP 5: Renovation or rehabilitation of the central pier in the lower front harbor of the Alsleben lock (Saale km 50.0)

TP 6: Dismantling of a sheet pile pier below the Alsleben lock (Saale km 49.9)

TP 7: Demolition and rebuilding of Dalben in the upper and lower suburbs of the Rothenburg lock (Saale km 58.5 - 59.0/both sides/10 Dalben)

TP 8: Renovation or rehabilitation of the main walls of the upper and lower front harbours of the Rothenburg lock (Saale km 58.6 - 58.8)

TP 9: Sheet piling remediation of the central pier in the lower harbour of the Rothenburg lock (Saale km 58.5)

TP 10: Construction of Dalben at the Wettin lock (Saale km 70.1 - 70.6/both sides/11 Dalben)

The content of this contract is the preliminary investigation including the examination of various variants, the preparation of a draft execution document (draft AU) as well as the preparation of tender documents ready for publication with construction description, service description and execution plans.
