Winter road maintenance includes carrying out activities aimed at ensuring passability and reducing traffic fluidity distortions caused by events such as snowfall, snow rain, dreaming drizzle or winter slipperiness of the roadway. Maintenance of winter roads include:
1/ preparation of materials and equipment,
2/ removal of snow and ice from the roadway,
3/ removal of slipperiness, i.e. preventing the formation and elimination of winter slipperiness by the use of enplanting and chemical materials, especially within driveways and intersections,
4/ the export of snow from the streets if necessary resulting from excessive rainfall preventing an effective snow removal action of the streets,
5/ snowball/sprinkling of sidewalks in zone I if necessary resulting from excessive rainfall.
