Lot 1

Undulators are the actual sources of radiation in electron storage rings and free electron lasers, they generate intense electromagnetic radiation from the extreme UV to the soft X-ray range at FLASH (Free-Electron LASer in Hamburg). The devices are installed in the accelerator tunnel, where they are exposed to radiation during operation. An undulator has a traversing mechanism that allows the distance between the two magnetic carriers to be moved with μm accuracy in the presence of the magnetic force of up to 3 tons.

The tenders must contain all the information and descriptions specified in Chapter 4 of the Technical Specification.

The "Technical Specification" contains all the information and parameters related to the scope and execution of the work, and refers to the assemblies and individual part drawings.

The drawing set (pdf files) can be downloaded by interested providers via DESY's Synch&Share platform.
