The object of the contract is to carry out so-called refresh measures on 90 low-floor “married pair” passenger cars in the period 2022 to 2026.

The conversion measures concern a total of 90 single-storey low-floor “married pair” passenger coaches, which consist of 16 driving coaches, 45 intermediate service cars, 14 supplementary medium coaches and 15 connecting cars. These form a total of 15 train sets. The passenger coaches are owned by Paribus-DIF-Netz-West-Waggon GmbH & Co. KG. In addition to maintaining the value of passenger cars, the aim of these conversion measures is to make passenger cars more attractive to passengers. The required conversion measures concern the following equipment features, in particular:

• Equipped with an Ethernet network,

• expansion of the passenger information system,

• installation of an automatic passenger counting system,

• passenger WiFi and mobile telephony,

• Energy optimization (lighting, air conditioning)

• renewal of the exterior paint scheme,

• renewal of the floor covering,

• replacement of the chamois,

• Redesign of wheelchair spaces as well as

• Equipped with sockets in the passenger compartment.
