DESIGNATION OF A TRANSLATION AGENCY

Purpose of services: External Translation Bureau.

Comment: The Federal Agency for Nuclear Control is a public utility body created on the basis of the law of 15 April 1994. It employs about 150 employees. The AFCN Translations Department has two translators, one French-speaking and one Dutch-speaking, who provide the majority of AFCN's translations.

This contract concerns the selection of a translation agency to support the activities of the Agency's internal service. Translations must be able to be delivered in Dutch, French, German and English. The Agency expects the translation bureau to take into account the scientific, technical and other terminology used within the NAFC.

Each individual translation request is considered a module. Each module is the subject of a separate order. Before starting each module, the service provider assesses the number of days and hours of work required to fulfill the order.

The contracting authority reserves the right to limit the order to one or more modules. The service provider cannot claim remuneration for unordered modules.
