The district of Amberg-Sulzbach intends to re-award containers provision, transport and sorting of waste electrical and electronic equipment from individual recycling centers in the district area on 01.09.2024 for an initial period of 4 years by way of an international tender until 31.08.2028 in fulfillment of its statutory disposal task of providing containers, transporting and sorting waste electrical and electronic equipment from individual recycling centers in the district area. The subject of this call for tenders is therefore the following services:
• Provision of the collection containers for the delivery system
- Roll-off container for the joint recording of collection groups 1, 2, 4 and 6
• Takeover of the waste electrical and electronic equipment at the corresponding collection points of the Amberg-Sulzbach district as well as transport and weighing
• Sorting of the collected waste electrical and electronic equipment (collection groups 1 to 6) and interim storage until collection by the manufacturers or commissioned third parties
In the district of Amberg-Sulzbach, the district of Amberg-Sulzbach operates a nationwide system for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in fulfilment of its statutory disposal tasks and is obliged under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act to collect waste electrical and electronic equipment separately from unsorted municipal waste and to provide the manufacturers obliged with collection and recycling at collection points separately according to the equipment groups specified in the ElektroG for to be provided. The collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment is organised via a delivery system at currently 24 recycling centres and a separate collection point.

In the recycling centers in the cities of Auerbach i.d.OPf. and Vilseck, in the municipality of Kümmersbruck and in the Sulzbach recycling centre in the town of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, collection points have been set up where the waste electrical and electronic equipment to be collected is delivered by citizens and dealers and made available for collection by the manufacturers, separated by equipment group. The provision of containers, the removal of collection containers (exception: fluorescent tubes) and the sorting of waste electrical and electronic equipment (exception: energy-saving lamps and fluorescent tubes) from these recycling centres are NOT the subject of this tender.
In addition, it is planned to open three recycling centers (Hirschau, Rieden and Schmidmühlen) during the term of the contract, from which the waste electrical and electronic equipment is to be recorded within the framework of this service description, analogous to the collection points in the cities of Auerbach i.d.OPf. and Vilseck, in the municipality of Kümmersbruck and in the Sulzbach recycling centre in the town of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, so that they are no longer the subject of the service to be provided after the corresponding expansion.
In the other recycling centers not mentioned in the previous paragraph as well as the separate collection point Südlager Vilseck, the waste electrical and electronic equipment is collected mixed in containers / containers. These devices are then to be taken to a sorting point of the contractor and sorted there according to the equipment groups specified in Section 14 (1) ElektroG and made available for later collection by the manufacturers or commissioned third parties.
The tender is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Ordinance (VgV) and the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB).
