The Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) at the Institute of Education, University of London (UK) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified providers to supply accelerometers for the 6th wave of the Millennium Cohort Study.

The Millennium Cohort Study (MCS), one of Britain's world-renowned longitudinal birth cohort studies, is following the lives of around 19 000 children born in the UK in 2000-01. The study has been tracking the Millennium children through their early childhood years and plans to follow them through adulthood.

The sweep of the study that we are currently planning for will be the 6th 1, collecting information about the cohort members' lives at the age of 14. It is planned to start in January 2015, and fieldwork will last approximately 1 year. As part of the age 14 survey, we intend to objectively measure the physical activity of the cohort members over the course of two pre-designated 24 hour periods.
