1. The subject of the contract is the execution of active protection treatments consisting in the removal of trees and shrubs along with biomass export / mowing in Natura 2000 areas

2. The subject of the contract shall include a service consisting in:

a) cutting down trees and shrubs on a total area of 11.03 ha from patches of natural habitats, i.e.: 7140 Transitional peat bogs and bogs (mostly with vegetation from Scheuchzerio-Caricetea), 7230 Mountain and lowland alkaline peat bogs of the nature of milkweed, sedges and mosses, 7210 Nakred peat bogs with the removal of biomass in Natura 2000 areas: Augustów Refuge (area 8.04 ha) and Sejny Lake District (area 2.99 ha).

b) determination by a naturalist expert of the places of occurrence of Lapland willow and low birch within the boundaries of the Natura Sejny Lake District

The protective treatment is to consist of felling expansive trees and shrubs and removing the resulting biomass from the treatment surface.

The total area to be treated is 11.03 ha (including 2.99 ha within the Sejny Lake District and 8.04 ha within the Augustów Refuge).

The works will be carried out in wetlands, peat bogs, i.e. 7140 Transitional peat bogs and bogs, 7230 Mountain and lowland alkaline peat bogs of the nature of młak, sedges and mosses and 7210 Nakredowe peat bogs.

Ownership of the areas on which the works are planned to be carried out are located on the land of the State Treasury in the management of PGL Lasy Państwowe (Pomerania Forest District) as well as private individuals and the Polish Birds Association.

Scope of the work envisaged for execution:

• habitat 7140 – Natura area of the Sejny Lake District – removal of trees and shrubs (birches, willows, excess pines – expansive with significant annual growths) with leaving pines with a peat bog habit, dwarf, with small annual growths and heights up to 5 m and leaving all the bushes of Lapland willow; removal of biomass beyond the lobe of natural habitat,

• habitat 7230 – Natura area of the Sejny Lake District – removal of trees and shrubs with leaving all birch bushes low and individual junipers and pines with peat bog habit, very small annual growths and heights up to 5 m; removal of biomass outside the lobe of natural habitat,

• habitat 7230 and 7210 – Natura 2000 site Ostoja Augustowska – removal of trees and shrubs with leaving dwarf pines and junipers (pine with peat bog habit, very small annual growths and heights up to 5 m), removal of biomass outside the lobe of natural habitat
