St. Olavs Hospital Health Trust, c/o the Clinical Pharmacology Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, the Bloodbank Division, has decided to implement a local procurement of ‘Blood grouping instruments’. The current blood grouping instruments are unstable, which may result in critical situations. The Contracting Authority has therefore decided to procure two fully automatic blood grouping instruments. Each instrument shall have the capacity to undertake the entire requirement for blood analyses at St.Olavs Hospital for a shorter period.

The objective of the contract is to enter into an agreement with a supplier of blood grouping instruments in accordance with St.Olavs Hospital's requirements, and the most favourable price based on a total cost perspective. The procurement will be priced in accordance with ‘price per test’. The instruments are the supplier's property, with accompanying liabilities for service and maintenance for the machine's entire operating time.

Two identical blood grouping machines shall be procured, with each machine having the capacity to handle the total analysis need for a short period (5-10 day) at times when one of the machine has a stoppage.

The contract is for 5 years with an option for the Contracting Authority to extend the contract for a further 2 years, one year at a time.
