The Information office for fruit and vegetables (OFG) will enter into framework agreements with suppliers for school fruit for the period autumn 2012 - spring 2014.
There are 2 main schemes for fruit and vegetables in schools. One of the schemes is a grant scheme for primary schools 1-7 (pure primary schools). In this scheme pupils subscribe to school fruit for one term at a time. The other main scheme is a free scheme for 1-10 grades schools (combined schools) and for 8-10 grades schools (pure secondary schools).
OFG offers the municipalities the option of using OFG's administration system (skolefruktsys.no) for deliveries to the free scheme for combined schools and pure secondary schools. The offer consists of, amongst other things, OFG negotiating and entering into contracts with suppliers to the free scheme.
The framework agreements with school fruit suppliers for the period autumn 2012 - spring 2014 will comprise deliveries to both the subscription scheme for pure primary schools and to the free scheme for combined schools. In the framework agreements suppliers will be chosen for subscription scheme, and the agreements will make an offer to the municipalities for the free scheme.
It is assumed that all municipalities in Norway shall have the opportunity to be included in the school fruit system at all times in the contract period.
The amount of fruit and vegetables which shall be delivered under the framework agreements with OFG will vary for each supplier throughout the contract period.
As regards deliveries to schools covered by the subscription scheme, the final selection of supplier will be done by the school, the school will choose between the suppliers that OFG has signed framework agreements with in the relevant area. As regards school covered by the free scheme, the final selection of supplier will be made by either the school or the municipality, from the suppliers who have signed a framework agreement with OFG.
The framework agreements will also be valid in the event of any changes in the school fruit schemes.
