The main objective of the study on "National policies and cohesion" linked to this call is to provide analytical input to the Commission services' work on the 8th Report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion, which the Commission services will draft in 2020. This study will serve as one of the inputs for the Cohesion Report.

The study shall analyse and describe the nature and extent of regional (economic, social, territorial) disparities within the EU's Member States, whether they have changed over time, and which are the main drivers behind this divergence.

The study shall determine which Member States have nationally (or regionally) funded policies in place that explicitly aim at reducing such disparities and thereby contribute to the EU's objectives of economic, social and territorial cohesion.

The study shall be based on desk studies, case studies, quantitative and qualitative analyses, surveys and interviews.
