Description:

A new and modern church is planned at Ålgård. The church building comprises two floors totalling 1 550 m², and is planned as a signature building in the city centre, and will accommodate various activities. The congregation is working on a possible extension of the basement by approx. 400 m², to be used for children's and youngster's activities.

Presently, the Awarding Authority has ordered a weather proofed carcass and tenderers are invited to give option prices for future furnishing of expansion.

Site: The church shall be built on a site close to the old church in the centre of Ålgård. The site adjoins the cemetery. The excavation work is planned to start up in the summer of 2013, with completion of the church building during 2014. Norconsult is engaged as construction manager. The works are expected to be executed as enterprises controlled by construction manager.

Expected contract divisions (i.e. approx. 15 contracts):

1. ground works;

2. outdoor facilities;

3. concrete and steel works;

4. laminated wood works (including prefabricated provider engineering design);

5. carpentry works, facade/ skylight, tinsmith works, internal tiling works;

6. roofing;

7. painting and floor/wall covering;

8. sanitary installations, water-borne heating/heat pump;

9. ventilation works;

10. electrical installation works-power current, lighting, electrical installation works-low current;

11. automation system, central operational control system;

12. sound system;

13. stage lighting system;

14. furniture in the church room;

15. lift.

Ventilation works.

This contract comprises ventilation system at Ålgård new church. In accordance with description and attached drawings a complete air treatment system shall be delivered and installed.

Extent - Construction stage 1 - Church building.

Construction stage 1 includes the following systems:

System 360.01 - Church building - Processed air quantities approx. 21 000 m3/h.

System 362.01 - Kitchen flue - Flue quantities approx. 2 200 m3/h.

System 360.01 Church building is a conventional air handling unit with rotating heat recovery, water borne heater battery and demand control of processed air. The system shall provide the entire church building. The ventilation principle in the church room is displacement ventilation whilst in other rooms complete circulation is used.

Due to variable use and load, the system shall be executed as a Variable air volume (VAV) system. Demand control of air quantities shall be conducted at room level with VAV valve on the channel network and room providers for CO2, temperature and presence. The system shall be equipped with short duration timer. It shall be feedback from the VAV valve and optimizer function on the air handling unit. The air handling unit shall be situated in the technical room in the basement. Intake and output through the ventilation tower above the technical room.

System 362.01 Kitchen flue shall operate kitchen extract hoods in the café kitchen. The flue shall be frequency controlled with level control from selective switch on the wall in the kitchen.

Extent - Construction stage 2 Expansion.

Construction stage 2 comprises furnishing of the expanded section of the basement. The works include establishment of channel network for supply air and flue, as well as connection to main channels from the air handling unit. Construction stage 2 shall be priced as an option.
