The Trust is seeking a private sector partner to provide services in connection with the refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of the Sterile Services Department (‘SSD’) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The Trust intends that the private sector partner (‘the Service Contractor’) will:

— Finance, design and build refurbishment works to the SSD building;

— Provide hard and soft FM services for the SSD;

— Provide a Managed Equipment Services for certain equipment in the SSD;

— Provide a facility to install certain additional equipment in the SSD and provide a Managed Equipment Service for this additional equipment;

— Provide a facility for the Trust to lease vehicles for the transport of items to and from the SSD;

— Provide a Helpdesk Service to allow the Trust to report problems and request services.

These services will be provided to a standard to allow the Trust to seek future MHRA accreditation for the SSD, if it decides to do so.

The Trust will pay for all of these services with a single monthly Service Payment (‘SP’) which will commence only when the SSD building has been refurbished, commissioned and tested to ensure that it provides the required environment and the equipment within it has been fully commissioned and validated.
