It concerns repetitive work over the various wings and various floors, since the design of the reinforcement measures and adjustments of the technical installations and structural adjustments is very similar.

Adaptation of roof and floor construction
The head office of the Rivierenland Water Board is approximately 16 years old. The construction that was used at the time is a so-called bulb slab floor. After the partial collapse of the parking garage at Eindhoven Airport, an investigation was started into the safety and quality of the floors and roofs of the head office of the Rivierenland Water Board. Research shows that bulb slab floors have also been used at the head office. These floors no longer meet the legal requirements and standards. This assignment includes strengthening the existing floor and roof construction of the head office in order to make it compliant again in terms of structural safety.
The reinforcement measure consists of applying a carbon adhesive reinforcement to the underside of the concrete slab floors, see photo on the right. For this, it is necessary to remove the existing suspended ceiling to make the underside of the bulb slab floors accessible. Above the suspended ceiling are also the technical installations for lighting, air supply and exhaust, electrical installations and the fire alarm and sprinkler system.
Customize technical installation
The technical installation of the head office must be adapted. The work consists of adjusting the ventilation system (ducts and grilles), partially adjusting the electrical installations and installing new lighting fixtures. In addition, the removal and at a later stage the reassembly of the technical installation parts above the suspended ceiling. The existing sprinkler system (fire extinguishing system) will have to be partially disconnected and reconnected and tested at a later stage. The installation of cables for TV screens in the various rooms is also part of the assignment.
