The former Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael, one of the most important monuments of national and international importance in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg, celebrated its 1,000th anniversary in 2015. The renovation of the church is in full swing and in the coming years renovation measures will be carried out on buildings and structures of the entire monastery complex.

In the course of the complete renovation of the monastery complex of St. Michael in Bamberg, the repair of the entire drainage is intended.

The plan is to redesign the entire drainage system as well as civil engineering structures including cisterns and retention basins.

Part of the VgV procedure is commissioning of the object planning of civil engineering structures according to HOAI, Part 3, Section 3, §§ 41 ff., divided into:

- Structures and installations of water supply according to § 41 or Annex 12.2 Group 1

- Buildings and installations of waste water disposal according to § 41 or Annex 12.2 Group 2

- Commissioning of the basic services of work phases 1 – 9

- Step-by-step commissioning – for the time being only level 1 with LPH 1 – 4 including associated special services

- Stages according to model contract

- Special services:

o Breakdown of canal construction costs by pipes and shafts (LPH 3 + 8)

o On-site construction supervision (LPH 8)

o Surveying during planning (as required)

o Construction surveying of civil engineering structures sewer / water pipes (as required)

o Monitoring of the rectification of defects (within LPH 9)

o Cost control according to ZVB – Ing. Section 8.7 (version 2015) (for all LPH from LPH 3)

- Planning services have already been provided according to HOAI Objektplanung Ingenieurbauwerke. Preliminary investigations including rough cost estimates, documents on canal navigation and on the rehabilitation of the drainage of the upper abbey garden are available. The applicant is requested to check whether (partial) services of LPH 1 + 2 have already been provided with the available documents.

- It is assumed that with the conclusion of the VgV procedure, the goal-setting phase according to BGB is completed.

Parallel to the VgV procedure for engineering services (object planning for engineering structures), the object planning of outdoor facilities is put out to tender in a further VgV procedure.

The assignment is intended in accordance with the provision of the financial and subsidies.

A legal claim to the commission, as well as to the commissioning with further stages or special services, does not exist.

Note on the fee agreement according to § 7 HOAI 2021:

The fee tables of the HOAI 2021 show orientation values. The fee is based on the agreement made by the contracting parties in text form. The client points out that in accordance with § 7 HOAI a higher or lower fee than the orientation values specified in the hoAI fee tables can be agreed. Unless an agreement has been made, the respective basic fee rate shall be deemed to have been agreed for the basic services.
