Defence wants to procure a new solution for the collection and analysis of log data for Defence's Secure Platforms (FSP). There are a large number of elements that generates log data, and the solution must provide for the collection of log data and analysis of events in the log files.

The following main objectives for the desired solution have been identified:

— Collection and analysis of log data from FSP elements. Data analysis will be conducted both in near real-time and for historical data.

— Support for long-term storage of log data.

— Introduction of off-the-shelf solutions to minimise any adaptations, at the same time that the solution should be relatively easy to maintain.

— Need for an Enterprise licensing model where licensing is given on total log volume regardless of the number of installations.
