The End User Environment will be a single point of delivery for all the Authority's End User services. Supporting end users and other UnITy suppliers in enabling the Authority's core business.
The End User Environment will play a significant role in supporting the Authority's ICT delivery, achieving its goal of ensuring the services delivered to its end-users are fit for purpose and fit for use.

The Authority wishes to purchase the whole range of End user Environment Services. These include the implementation, provision, management and operation of the following;
Provisioning
End User foundation services (including Active Directory, PKI Services, IDAM, SSO and Messaging Gateways)
End User devices
Assisted technology
Security
Office productivity
End User Communications
End Point management and tools
Line of business application presentation
There are approximately 21 500 end users within scope and 28 000 devices in circulation which include but are not limited to desktops, laptops, thin clients, tablets and phone devices.
The current contracts deliver services to both Defra and the Environment Agency across 371 sites in the UK, of which 161 are offices, 131 stores or depots and the remainder a mixture of both. The service is to be made available to 21 500 staff across the UK.
The End User Environment will be provided to Defra and other organisations in the Core Defra Group (Natural England, The Environment Agency, The Rural Payments Agency, Marine Management Organisation and The Animal and Plant Health Agency
The estimated contract value stated in section II.2.6 is the maximum estimated value. This assumes a 7-year contract term (i.e. it assumes that Defra invokes the two-year extension option) and includes the one-off costs associated with implementation. The estimate also includes provision for optional services, contingency and for growth to allow for any additional Service Recipients who may join the Contract during its term. The maximum value is not guaranteed expenditure and Defra considers that the actual costs of the Contract will be considerably less than the maximum value set out here.
