Stockport NHS Foundation Trusts have a requirement for the provision a taxi service for the transportation of patients, staff and light goods for both routine and ad-hoc requirements. This service will also involve the transportation of patients whose condition does not warrant an ambulance, medical notes, drugs, meals and various small items to various locations, normally within the county, but occasionally longer distances. There is also a level of demand for the transportation of patients who are unable to transfer out of their wheelchair. The supplier will be responsible for the provision of this service 24 hours a day, 365/6 days a year. Availability after 5:00 p.m. is essential due to patient movements.
