The procurement services of the City of Turku's Group administration request tenders for waste management services for the period 1.11.2023 - 31.12.2024, after which the agreement can be extended with four (4) one (1) year options on the original terms by decision of the Contracting entity.

The target of the procurement is the waste management services of the City of Turku. The procurement is divided into sub-entities based on waste types.

Service providers are selected by sub-entity so that one (1) service provider is selected for each sub-entity.

The Southwest Finland Waste Management Board has made a decision (4.5.2023, section 18) to transfer the transport system of combustible waste to the municipality so that the transport organised by the municipality will be phased in between 2026 and 2029 at the earliest three years after the decision has been made, when the new transport contracts tendered by Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy begin. Contractual waste transport will cease when transport organised by the municipality is transferred. This means that the responsibility for arranging services for combustible waste may be transferred to Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto Oy in the middle of the contract period. The Customer is not responsible for any changes caused by this change.
