The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has procured a enhanced 4-valent vaccine against seasonal influenza for vaccinating nursing home residents aged 65 or older. An enhanced 4-valent influenza vaccine is a vaccine that is more effective than the ordinary influenza vaccine that is offered to other target groups in the national vaccination programme.

The procurement will follow the rules for an open tender contest in accordance with the Public Procurements Act and regulations (FOA) parts 1 and 3, and will be made electronically in the contracting authority's electronic contest management tool, CTM (EU-Supply).

The aim was to enter into a contract for the delivery of 40,000 doses of enhanced 4-valent influenza vaccines. The tender documentation specified the minimum requirements for the vaccine.

The only award criterium in the tender contest was the lowest price. A contract was signed with one tenderer.
