The Agency now wants to tender a framework contract with one supplier for maintenance and development on these platforms. The purpose of concluding a framework agreement with a supplier is to minimise the current transaction costs and allow the supplier to build in-depth knowledge of the applications in order to better solve the tasks under the framework agreement. The Medicines Agency has so far operated with two different agreements for the same purpose, but now wants to merge the tasks into one framework agreement. Thus, the first major task for a new vendor will be to take over the application portfolio and get into it.
