VgV Architectural Services | Spaichingen health center, subsequent use of the clinic building

The district of Tuttlingen is planning to reorganize the inpatient care offers at the clinic at the Tuttlingen site. A health center is to be built on the previous clinic site at the Spaichingen site, which, in addition to a focus on classic outpatient care, nursing offers and health-related services, is also to include public uses.

An architect | Interior designer wanted for LPH 1-9 HOAI 2021. The aim in LPH 1 + 2 is the planning of an overall structure, while in all other service phases the implementation is to be carried out building section. The assignment takes place in stages.

A reorganization of the existing clinic building is planned for the Spaichingen health center, which is to be open to various users in the future. The focus of the planning task is on the interior design.

The aim is to redesign the existing building on the basis of economic studies with minor structural interventions and to incorporate the new offers. Appropriate usage zones are to be developed and the entrances and access routes are to be reorganized and made clear for the visitor. Use in the building should remain flexible as far as possible. The specialty of the task is to coordinate and develop the project with the client and the user representatives and to clarify open points together. The architect / interior designer should also take on a consultancy role here.

The total program area in the former clinic is approx. 10,800 m 2 . Rescheduling will take place at around 6,000 m 2 occur. The building is 2-storey.

The following offers are planned on the premises of the clinic in Spaichingen:

1. Center for Outpatient Surgery.

The center is already located on the site. Interventions that do not require hospitalization. Only planned operations are carried out, no emergencies.

2. Medical care center / resident doctors / sleep laboratory / eye center dermatology / general practitioners' practices,

3. Health-related services, e.g. medical supply store,

4. Central contact point for families, therapy and advice centers for children and adolescents,

5. Branch office for care and self-help, advice, meeting point,

6th DRK emergency doctor's station,

7. Mobile social service,

8. Health department branch, specialist center for care - infection protection, initial examination, early intervention center, prevention,

9. Further care offers with a rehabilitative and therapeutic approach.

If necessary, there will be other uses that are currently still in the planning stage.

The exact scope and implementation of the offers are defined in cooperation with the planner and the users.

In the immediate vicinity, solitary short-term care with a rehabilitative approach and integrated extended outpatient care is planned in a new building, as well as a municipal kindergarten in another separate building. Both properties are not part of the competition, but round off the health center's offerings.

A clear structure and a coherent, well-arranged access concept or a new entrance situation must be developed to bring the various offers together. There are parking spaces on the property that are to be integrated into the development concept. There is a good connection to public transport.

The planning of the measure is to begin this year 2021 after the completion of the procedure. Currently free space (approx. 1,500 m 2 ) can be obtained directly. The planned relocation of smaller stationary offers that are still available is only to take place at a later point in time (probably early 2024), so all offers will be implemented in several construction phases over several years. A step-by-step implementation, taking into account the offers currently available in the existing building, is an essential task in the planning.

The project is funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg, and funding has been approved.
