Community Benefits apply to this contract, Further details: Tenderers are required to submit a Community Benefits Plan with their tender submission which details how they will support the contract in the delivery of the objectives detailed in numbers 1, 2 and 3 below. 1. Training and Employment opportunities Consider the opportunities to recruit and train long term economically inactive persons as part of the workforce delivering this contract, directly and indirectly through your supply chain. NCC is keen that the successful suppliers consider the opportunity to offer work experience/work placements/apprenticeships during the life of the contract. However other employment and training could also be considered. 2. Maximise Supply Chain opportunities for SME’s, Third Sector Organisations and Supported Businesses The successful suppliers will be encouraged to review their supply chain and consider opportunities for SME’s, third sector organisations and supported businesses, to bid for supply chain opportunities arising from this work. It is expected this will include:- — advertising opportunities on Sell2Wales — Using the Welsh Assembly Government’s Supplier Development Service to identify appropriate sub-contractors. 3. Value Added Services / Other Benefits The successful suppliers will also be encouraged to secure other value-added, positive outcomes that would benefit the community they operate within, for example:- — Provide educational opportunities to local schools such as farm visits — Support the Catering Departments in marketing the health benefits of eating fruit and vegetables in line with the national government ‘5 a day’ initiative. — work with local schools and colleges - work experience/work placements — contribute to community regeneration schemes — The Community Benefits Plan will not be evaluated or scored as part of the tender application. However, at award of contract, the successful contractors will be expected to maximise the community benefits delivered through this contract. The information provided for in the nominated suppliers Community Benefits Plan will form part of, and be incorporated into, the terms and conditions of contract.
