Delivery and installation of a slotted casting system
General
ZSW is planning to set up a research pilot line for perovskite-based photovoltaics. The aim is to evaluate and develop scalable manufacturing technologies and processes for manufacturing. The research pilot line is intended to bridge the gap between laboratory research and industrial application of the next generation of thin-film solar cells based on novel perovskite materials. The functional layers of a perovskite solar cell are very thin and have a layer thickness of only a few nanometers to a few hundred nanometers.
LdG4: Roll-to-roll slotted caster 1
Roll-to-roll system for coating flexible film substrates by means of a slotted casting process with high-precision slotted dies for a reproducible and laterally uniform layer thickness. Several layers are to be deposited in one plant for the mapping of real production conditions. For the expulsion of the solvent from the wet films and the subsequent controlled crystallization, air swords with a defined and homogeneous nitrogen flow are required, as well as a drying section several meters long, which correlates with the maximum belt speed. The plant is to include an enclosure with explosion protection and air treatment, both with regard to control of the process conditions (esp. humidity and temperature) as well as for the protection of personnel.
