This contract focuses on controlling the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance in humans and animals through the monitoring of antibiotic use in animals. To this end, reports on the use of antibiotics in animals in the existing online database (Sanitel-Med) should be analyzed.

- the analysis and reporting of data on antimicrobial consumption, both in food-producing animals (cattle, pigs, poultry, small ruminants, rabbits) and in companion animals (including horses) from the Sanitel-Med data collection system (SCD) or other SCDs managed or recognised by the FAMHP;

- the analysis of the number of animals present or produced in Belgium on the basis of data relating to animal capacity or census data in SANITEL, EUROSTAT or BELSTAT or other official databases in order to develop the incidence of treatment by species or category of animals;

- reporting of the results to scd operators or users to an existing report server;

- the extraction, analysis and transmission of data in the framework of the ESVAC project (EMA), among others, pursuant to Regulation 2019/6, art. 57 ;

- the development of models and the creation of the necessary tools for the identification and monitoring of specific typical users;

- presentation and communication concerning the analysis (methodology) and results at national level and at the level of the animal sector;

- the provision of policy recommendations concerning (the reduction of) the use of antimicrobials in animals.
