The subject of the tender is the planning and construction of a replacement for the Haarbach Viaduct in the final location including the adjacent sections. The bridge in the course of the A544 motorway is located in the section between the junctions Würselen and Aachen-Rothe Erde. Due to existing structural damage to the superstructure, the bridge structure is to be replaced by a new building.

The construction target includes all necessary measures for the overall project of replacing the Haarbach Viaduct. The prerequisites for the fulfilment of the object of performance are specified by the ready-to-use construction of the following structures:

- Demolition and new construction of the Haarbach Viaduct

- Electrical equipment of the superstructure including a 5-year maintenance contract after acceptance of the overall measure

- Renewal of the protective devices on the existing structures of the A544 and between the junctions (AS) AC-Rothe Erde and Würselen according to the information of the AG (cap anchoring existing structures)

- Thorough repair of the BAB 544 approx. from operating km 2+565 to operating km 3+262 including adjustments of the road cross-section to the current guidelines

- Road equipment (protective equipment/marking/signage) for the above-mentioned motorway section

- New construction of a rainwater treatment plant west of the bridge structure

- Renewal of the AUSA plant

- Renewal of the existing drainage systems

- Relocation of the Haarbach including renaturation

The construction target comprises the following main services:

- approx. 1,820 t of reinforcing steel

- approx. 1,660 t of structural steel, e.g. for steel structure superstructure

- approx. 13,100 m³ of concrete (various. Concrete grades)

- approx. 18,900 m² asphalt paving (including temporary bypasses)
