A maritime science centre shall be established in Tungevågen. The science centre has the working title ‘Vitenvågen’ and it shall be included as a science centre department in the Jær Museum together with Vitenfabrikken in Sandnes and Vitengarden at Nærbø. The project is a cooperation between several actors, Randaberg municipality is the builder and will own the new building.

Vitenvågen shall inspire children and youths in mathematics, science and technology, so that more choose education in these subjects.

In particular 3 main themes will be emphasised; aquaculture, maritime industry and the Norwegian Coastal Administration's activities.

The assignment includes project management and engineering design management for continuing the project up to the completed preliminary and detailed projects for the science centre.

Furthermore, there will be an option for the contracting authority to continue the engagement to also cover all or part of the project management and construction management for the execution phase.

Further clarifications on the work assignments and extent will be given when contracting the assignment.
