The Authority is considering placing a contract to ensure the continued capability of the single fit Medium Range Radar Type (RT) 994 for combined Air Surveillance and Air Traffic Control (ATC) on the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) ship ARGUS. The Capability is primarily to enable onboard ARGUS control of any helicopter from/to the Ship providing disaster relief and shore to Ship casualty evacuation. A secondary role is to enable onboard ARGUS control of military aircraft undergoing training from/to ARGUS and in the Ship's airspace .The contracting intention is for the successful bidder to Supply, Fit and subsequently Support an upgrade of RT994, by either partial or complete replacement of the current RT994 System. Contractors should note that at ITT the department will expect evidence that their proposed design solution will fully meet the requirements.
