The assignment comprises two sub-projects:

1. developing environmental quality standards for EU priority substances, as well as a number of other substances, see table 1.1 and table 1.2 in Attachment B - scope of work;

2. revise Klif’s risk guidelines for contaminated sediments.

The purpose of sub-project 1 is to develop environmental quality standards for the relevant matrix for several of the substances listed in Annex I of Directive 2008/105/EC, as well as a number of other relevant pollutants.

The purpose of the sub-project 2 is to revise Klif’s guidelines for risk assessment of contaminated sediment with respect to the new environmental quality standards which shall be determined in sub-project 1.
