The historic kindergarten site located in the centre of the municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal in the OT Ralbitz on the village square is to be supplemented by a contemporary new building due to the increasing number of children under the use of public funding. After completion of the new building, the existing building will be renovated in a later construction phase and converted for after-school care. In the interplay of new construction, renovated existing building and the high-quality outdoor facilities, a contemporary modern educational institution is created, which sustainably strengthens the attractiveness of the residential location of the municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal.
The municipality is initially planning the two-storey new construction of the day-care centre with 105 kindergarten places and 50 crèche places on the site of the existing kindergarten in Ralbitz with corresponding adaptation of the outdoor facilities and traffic facilities. The new building develops as a warped rectangle at the southern end of the property. All group rooms are oriented to the south and southwest and offer high-quality views of the free, unspoilt Sorbian landscape. The focal point of the building is the central two-storey hall with the generous skylight and the single-run staircase. With the large-format glazing and recesses, the new building interlocks with the outdoor area. In the interior, the high proportion of daylight and beautiful views in combination with the warm colours of the surfaces and the artisanal fixtures create a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere, which is the perfect setting for a varied everyday life in the daycare centre.
