The contract is for engineering design services for, production, delivery and assembly of complete facades for the new Deichmanske main library. The contract is for all vertical external surfaces, external roofs, skylights and doors in the outer shell. The contractor shall engineer and calculate all facade elements and fastening points of them in the main construction and in the building otherwise.

All details shall be approved by the engineering design group before final production. The project comes under passive house requirements (Passive house standard: SINTEF Building research project report 42:2009 Criteria for passive house and low energy buildings - occupational buildings and there are strict requirements for the U-value, G-value and density. The project has a challenging construction with high floors and movement in cantileverd concrete constructions that the facade shall deal with.

Proposals have been worked out for the design of technical and constructive systems as a basis for further engineering design services and the development of facade solutions and production method. See the qualification documents and annexes for further details.
