In the spirit of sustainable mobility, rnv is working on the implementation of innovative concepts such as the use of alternative drive technologies and the associated infrastructure.
In order to decarbonize public transport, it is necessary to switch to electric drives, i.e. battery and fuel cell electric buses as well as combinations of both systems. rnv has set itself ambitious goals for the electrification of its bus fleet. By 2032, the entire bus fleet is to be converted to alternative drives.
In order to be able to cover the future additional demand for bus capacities from the "transport turnaround", a new central bus depot is to be built on the site of the former Mannheim meat supply centre after the demolition of the existing buildings.
