The 2 operative subsidiaries Abellio Rail NRW GmbH and Abellio Rail Mitteldeutschland GmbH of Abellio GmbH operate diesel-powered local rail passenger transport in NRW and Central Germany. Various multiple units from the manufacturer Alstom (type Coradia LINT) are used here. The Abellio Rail NRW GmbH fleet comprises 12 multiple units. The Abellio Rail Mittedleutschland GmbH fleet comprises 54 multiple units. All in all, the multiple units are equipped with 132 power packs, 2 per train. Abellio Rail Central Germany also has 5 PowerPacks that are not currently installed in the multiple units. The Abellio Rail NTW GmbH has 2 PowerPacks that are not installed in the multiple units. The revision of the PowerPacks will be advertised in the years 2021 to 2031 (opt. 2033).

Abellio GmbH is tendering a framework contract for the revision of the PowerPacks on the aforementioned Alstom Coradia LINT rail vehicles, which is only concluded with the most economical bidder. Subsequent orders are placed by the subsidiaries as part of individual orders.
