The Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, represented by the District Government of Cologne, is obliged to back up the data entrusted to it or generated by it and to keep it available for recovery in the event of an emergency.
In order to fulfill these tasks, software for the storage of long-term data is procured.
Long-term data storage is used for the permanent, unalterable storage of aerial photographs. In addition to the aerial images with sizes of up to 2 GB, there are also a large number of smaller files on the NTFS and ReFS drives.
The LZD range will grow to about 4PB in the next 5 years. The maximum data capacity that can be managed by the software solution must be at least 5 PB due to an increasing trend.
In addition, a belt robot is to be procured as a replacement for the existing belt robots.
The robot must initially be equipped with 9 LTO-8 drives and must be expandable with additional LTO-8 drives.
