Newcastle City Council has a duty to provide care and support for its vulnerable residents who are eligible according to the national criteria introduced by the Care Act 2014. The Council currently commissions general residential services from a number of external organisations in the City which allow us to meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable citizens and we are seeking to establish a new framework.
General residential care services are those that can provide care matched to the specific needs of adults aged 65 and over. The framework for general residential services for adults aged 65 and over will be for a period of 27 months expiring on the 31.3.2021. Placements will be made under individual call off arrangements via direct award.
