The Office of The Durham Police and Crime Commissioner (ODPCC) is responsible for the removal and recovery of a large number of motor vehicles, vehicle related parts, loads and other items of plant and equipment from the roads and other areas within County Durham and Darlington.
Whilst a proportion of all such recoveries are resourced by the Highways Agency, Motoring Organisations and motorists’ own private arrangements, the remainder are recovered by order of the Police using appropriate powers, or at the request of the owners themselves.
The ODPCC wishes to appoint a number of Operators to provide the contracted services.
The Contract will include, but not be limited to, the following:
— Recovery and storage of vehicles, vehicle parts and miscellaneous items, as required;
— Secure storage facilities;
— A 24 hour, 365/6 days a year recovery and storage service;
— Maximum response times for each Lot (except for extreme circumstances).
More detailed information will be contained in the PQQ and ITT documents.
