The state capital Potsdam (LHP), Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH (ViP), Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH (EWP) and Netzgesellschaft Potsdam GmbH (NGP) intend to redesign the Leipziger Dreieck with the aim of fundamentally improving traffic conditions in the area of Leipziger Straße, Heinrich-Mann-Allee and Brauhausberg. The technical solution to be implemented includes in particular the reversal of the existing one-way street regulation in the course of Leipziger Straße, which is to take place in the future between Persiusspeicher and the junction Leipziger Straße / Michendorfer Chaussee / Templiner Straße in the direction outside the city. A prerequisite for this change in the traffic routing in Leipziger Straße and the associated increased traffic load on the street Brauhausberg in the direction of the city is the removal of the tram route from Heinrich-Mann-Allee between Brauhausberg and Friedrich-Engels-Straße. The tram line, including the stop, will be moved to the southern lane of Friedrich-Engels-Straße and will be connected to the track span between the station forecourt and Heinrich-Mann-Allee.
The present plan includes the conversion of the traffic facilities in Heinrich-Mann-Allee between Langer Brücke and Kleiner Heinrich-Mann-Allee, as well as the southern lanes in Leipziger Straße from the underground car park entrance of the sports and leisure pool "blu" to Heinrich-Mann-Allee.
The planning also includes the replacement of supply and disposal lines for the EWP and the NGP, which is necessary due to the planned renovation of the traffic facilities or the structural condition of the facilities.
The construction project is divided into the following construction phases:
BA 1 Friedrich-Engels-Straße and station forecourt
BA 2A Leipziger Straße
BA 2B Brauhausberg and right turn to Leipziger Straße
BA 2C Michendorfer Chaussee between Brauhausberg and Templiner Straße
BA 2D outdoor facilities
BA 3 Heinrich-Mann-Allee
The subject of the present planning is construction phase 3.
