Description:

Sterilisation, disinfection and hygiene devices. Sterilisation, disinfection and hygiene devices. Sterilisation, disinfection and hygiene devices. The overall objective is to secure the provision of a modern and efficient sterile and decontamination service which achieves the national policy for compliance with all of the latest and future quality and legislative standards, at a competitive and cost effective price, enabling the Trust to service their current and planned/unplanned growth requirements in a timely manner. The service is alread outsourced and sterilisation occurs off-site.

The service will include the comprehensive provision of sterile services and other decontamination services including the cleaning of surgical/medical instruments/devices and equipment within facilities. The The Services to be provided must comply with all relevant current legislation and regulations which must include, but is not limited to:

— Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC,

— BS EN ISO 13485:2003,

— Health and Social Care Act 2008 and its Code of Practice for Health and Adult Social Care on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance,

— Department of Health Overarching Decontamination policy document.

The service should be fully managed and include collection/delivery and processing of surgical instruments and packs to departments within the Trust and the provision of associated support services and supplies. Deliveries are made to a single site, with department drop-off points.

In meeting this objective the Contractor shall ensure that that all reusable medical devices are properly decontaminated prior to use with traceability infrastructure.

The contract must be effective from 14.5.2014.
