The Ministry of Defence must ensure that all pilots are trained to a recognised standard prior to progressing to the Operational Conversion Unit (OCU). In order to achieve this standard, the RAF requires an independent organisation to provide all essential training for the students to obtain a Commercial Pilots Licence and Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) title equivalent. The Provision of Multi Engine Pilot Training (MEPT) shall be for up to 40 students per year. An optional requirement of accommodation throughout the duration of each course may be required. This requirement is for 3 years plus 2 option years.
