Description:
Planning, construction, and operation of a fast-charging network for e-trucks at unmanaged rest areas along federal motorways is being awarded by Autobahn GmbH, ensuring timely commissioning, user-friendly operation, and non-discriminatory access to charging facilities.

The subject of this award procedure is the planning, construction and operation of a fast-charging network for e-trucks at unmanaged rest areas along the federal motorways.
The contract will be awarded by Autobahn GmbH des Bundes (also on behalf of the Federal Government) as part of a tender with five lots and concerns the planning, construction and operation of a binding number of MCS and CCS charging points at a total of approx. 130 locations. Each lot is assigned locations/rest areas with a number of charging points in the allocation process. It is also possible that the number of charging points at individual rest areas will increase during the contract period or that additional rest areas will be added; this is especially true if the demand for charging infrastructure continues to increase compared to current planning and this demand is not covered by self-economic development without state subsidies.
For charging points for intermediate charging, nominal charging capacities of at least 400 kW (CCS charging point) and 1 MW (MCS charging point) are planned. Charging power can be ensured by sharing power units from several charging points. In this case, for MCS charging points, the power available at a charging point must be at least 800 kW (minimum charging power), taking into account several simultaneous charging processes at charging points assigned to the same power units; at CCS charging points for overnight charging, this value is at least 150 kW (minimum charging power).
Autobahn GmbH des Bundes applies to the responsible network operator for the establishment of the necessary grid connections.

LOT-0001
Planning, Construction and Operation of Publicly Accessible Fast-Charging Infrastructure for E-Trucks at Unmanaged Rest Areas at BAB of the Federal Republic of Germany (Lot 1 Truck Fast-Charging Network - unemployed rest areas).
On the basis of the SchnellLG, Autobahn GmbH des Bundes awards contracts (also on behalf of the Federal Government) for the planning, construction and operation of a fast-charging network for e-trucks at unmanaged rest areas along the federal motorways.
The Federal Government's Autobahn GmbH has defined the technical, economic and legal framework conditions in a preliminary contract. In the context of the provision of services, the following points are particularly important:
- Each of the five lots will be allocated around 25 unmanaged rest areas with an individual number of MCS and CCS charging points.
- In particular, each selected operator must ensure the timely commissioning and user-friendly operation of the MCS/CCS charging facilities (with a high level of availability).
- Each selected operator must ensure non-discriminatory access to its charging facilities. This applies both to the so-called EMP (e-mobility providers) and directly to end customers in the case of ad-hoc charging. In addition, it should be possible for every user of the charging facilities to freely choose their electricity supplier.
- The term of the contract is eight years. In addition, an extension option of four years is provided.
The service defined in this way is to be remunerated (proportionately), whereby the specific amount of remuneration for each lot is determined within the framework of this invitation to tender - by means of a competitive procedure.
