Description:
Development of a side bogie inspection device SEDRIG for automated visual inspections of vehicles using mobile camera robots and artificial intelligence, with subsequent framework agreement for supply of inspection equipment.

Development of a side bogie inspection device "SEDRIG" as well as a subsequent framework agreement for the supply of side bogie inspection equipment (SEDRIG).

The "Kamerabefundung@Regio" project deals with the automated condition recording of vehicles by means of image material in order to replace the manual visual inspection (IS200) in the plants. In this context, the SEDRIG is an important building block among others in order to generate a complete condition assessment of the vehicles.

The digital scan of the trains is to be carried out with mobile camera robots (side/bogie) in the sidings and the plants. The data from the digital scan will then be automatically evaluated in the target image using artificial intelligence.
One of DB Regio AG's strategic goals is to carry out visual inspections, i.e. the visual condition recording of functional and safety-relevant assemblies, via automated systems in order to create capacities in existing plants for the targeted growth.

The Kamerabefundung@Regio project is divided into two sub-projects. This tender concerns the sub-project of the diagnosis of the side of the vehicle and the bogie by means of a "SEDRIG".

The object of the award is a contract for the development of a side bogie inspection device "SEDRIG" as well as a framework contract for the supply of side bogie inspection equipment (SEDRIG).
The deliveries and services to be provided by the contractor are described in more detail in the other tender documents.

The assignment is divided into two phases:

Phase 1: Development of a side bogie inspection device "SEDRIG"
Phase 2: Framework contract for the supply of side bogie inspection equipment (SEDRIG)

The tender described here includes two interdependent services on the part of the future Contractor. The first step is to develop a prototype of the SEDRIGs with increasing requirements as part of a development contract.

This is done on the basis of the three functional scopes A, B and C.

A: Manually operated SEDRIG:
Fully remote-controlled SEDRIG (motion and camera recordings) with local data storage of the recorded data on a storage medium for subsequent data transfer to a downstream evaluation process (software for image evaluation).

B: Semi-automatic SEDRIG:
Semi-automatic movement of the SEDRIG in the working area as well as semi-automatic camera recordings with data transfer of the recorded data to a DB storage system for subsequent data transfer to a downstream evaluation process (software for image evaluation).

C: Fully Automatic SEDRIG:
Fully automatic movement of the SEDRIG within the work area as well as fully automated camera recordings of all relevant vehicle areas with automatic data transfer of the recorded data to a downstream evaluation process (software for image evaluation).

In the event of a successful development of a SEDRIG with functional scope C, further inspection devices with the same range of functions will be ordered. In the event that Scope C cannot be developed in accordance with the requirements, the procurement of additional Scope B equipment is provided as an option. There are no plans to procure additional equipment of scope A.

The purchase quantities of the series device to be procured are made up as follows:

• 1 x prototype developed into a serial device (feature set C);
• 3 x serial unit (minimum purchase quantity for successful development up to C);

Optionally, further developed series devices can be ordered via the subsequent Group-wide supply framework agreement.
