In order to promote social innovations and, in particular, the social use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the service of the common good, even beyond departmental boundaries, the BMAS, BMUV and BMFSFJ have jointly launched the initiative "Civic Coding – Innovation Network AI for the Common Good". By bundling and networking the AI-related projects, programmes and structures of the three ministries involved, synergies will be exploited and the visibility and appeal of the joint activities will be increased. The aim is to create and expand a visible and effective innovation network that supports and secures the development and use of AI for the common good in the long term.
To support the joint activities of "Civic Coding", the BMAS, BMUV and BMFSFJ are planning to set up a joint office again. This is to support the three departments in the sense of a service point with the implementation and continuation of the predominantly joint activities (esp. implementation, management, design and visibility).
Furthermore, the office supports the three ministries in cooperation and networking on overarching issues and acts with content-related impulses, continuously accompanying the work processes of the interministerial working group in terms of content and organization.
The inter-ministerial working group is authorised to issue instructions to the office. This can divide responsibilities and authority between them in a division of labour.
The range of services comprises five work packages. Please note the attached tender documents.
