Replacement procurement and operation of a radiological information system (RIS)
The client, the Städtische Klinikum Karlsruhe gGmbH, currently operates a radiological information system (GE, Centricity RIS) for the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology under the direction of Prof Reimer. For further information, please refer to the website (https://www.klinikum-karlsruhe.de) and the current quality report.
The client's radiological institute has already achieved a high degree of digitalization and the processes are continuously developed and consistently controlled by key figures. Among other things, all findings are created with speech recognition and then digitally checked and approved by other physicians in the RIS.
The level of digitalization and IT support of processes in radiology that has already been achieved must be maintained and further developed. This applies in particular to the achieved integration with the clinical workplace system in the area of requirements communication and the provision of findings, performance and billing data.
Important areas of development include communication between MTRs and physicians, the preparation and correction of findings, e.g. with the help of structured reporting, as well as supplementation and enrichment of the findings with technology, dose, materials and image data.
In addition to these functional enhancements, one focus is on improving information security in the dimensions of availability, integrity and confidentiality.
