Engineering structures in Berlin, including bridges and tunnels, require a series of inspections and ongoing observations over several years as per DIN 1076 standards.

Type and scope of the construction works, supplies, or services, or specification of needs and requirements) The engineering structures to be inspected according to II.1.1) are located in the urban area of Berlin and run along federal highways as local thoroughfares, country roads, farm roads, and footpaths. The bridge structures span public roads and paths, railway facilities, and bodies of water. 112 partial structures with a BW area of 57,057 m² under the responsibility of the State-South District consisting of: 75 bridge structures, 4 noise protection structures, 23 supporting structures, 5 tunnels/channel structures, 4 other structures, 1 traffic sign bridge.

The scope of work includes for each partial structure in the individual years: 2025: 1 main inspection, 2 ongoing observations, 2026 and 2027: 1 inspection, 2 ongoing observations, 2028: 1 simple inspection, 2 ongoing observations, 2029 and 2030: 1 inspection, 2 ongoing observations. Furthermore, for 2 partial structures in the years: 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2030: 2 special inspections (hands-on inspection) and for 2 partial structures in the year: 2028: the extension of the simple inspection by a hands-on inspection
