Project goals:

Digital transformation and efficiency improvement of core pathological processes as well as the replacement of the existing system PathoPro and the introduction of a future-proof digital infrastructure for pathology.

The LIS is to ensure the service of the Institute of Pathology at UK Köln, here for the specialist areas

- Pathology
- Neuropathology
- Dermatohistopathology (separate laboratory location)
and at the external locations
- Hospital Lüdenscheid
- Hospital Gummersbach
as well as for four pathology practices at the Köln location.

The LIS supports, among other things, the processes of sending, laboratory, reporting, and billing organizationally by limiting them to different number ranges, especially to restrict different e.g. senders, service providers, sample materials (primary samples, consultative samples, section samples), and form control.
